Robert Mangold was born 1937 in North Tonawanda, New York. He studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art and at Yale University. As all minimalist paintings, they calling typical connotations of conceptions of painting, often appearing to be objects rather than images.  Mangold almost exclusively works in extensive series on both paintings and works on paper.
